Integreon and its 3,500-plus global employees partnered with non-profit Wine To Water to build water filters and match employee donations, supporting an emergency effort to deliver over 12,000 filters to Ukraine and provide clean water to communities where Integreon operates.

Filters for communities without clean water

In a partnership announced on April 25, 2022, legal and business-services outsourcing provider Integreon teamed up with the non-profit Wine To Water to widen access to clean water. Integreon and its 3,500-plus global employees committed to building water filters and to matching employee donations, tying the company's philanthropy directly to its people's own giving.

A central focus of the effort was an emergency response to the crisis in Ukraine: the partnership set out to deliver more than 12,000 water filters to displaced families, backed by Integreon's employee donation-matching program. Alongside the Ukraine push, the work was aimed at communities where Integreon operates.

Why filters

Wine To Water's filter model is built for durability and environmental payoff, not just immediate relief. Each filter is described as providing clean drinking water for over a decade while cutting reliance on single-use plastic bottles, addressing a humanitarian need and an environmental one at the same time. That longevity is what makes 12,000 filters a meaningful figure: it is not a single day of bottled water, but years of supply for the households that receive them.

The partner: Wine To Water

Wine To Water is an international non-profit focused on clean-water access and sustainability. At the time of the partnership it had served 1.4 million people across 51 countries since its founding in 2007, with a track record in disaster response spanning Sudan, Haiti, Syria, the Philippines and other nations. Pairing with an organisation experienced in emergencies gave Integreon's Ukraine-focused effort an established delivery channel rather than an untested one.

How it fits Integreon's CSR

Integreon frames its corporate social responsibility around three pillars, education, healthcare, and environmental stewardship, and the leadership's pitch was that the Wine To Water partnership touches all three at once.

Partnering with W|W, building filters and supporting their educational outreach allows us to touch all three components of Integreon's Corporate Social Responsibility program.

That is Noreen Kamka, Integreon's Chief People Officer. The framing is deliberate: clean water is a health intervention, the filters address environmental waste, and Wine To Water's educational outreach on water and hygiene rounds out the third pillar.

Why it matters

Clean water and sanitation is one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and access to safe drinking water is foundational to health, education and economic participation, which is why an intervention this basic has outsized downstream effects. The Ukraine dimension also shows CSR being redirected quickly toward an acute humanitarian emergency rather than staying tied to routine programming.

For the outsourcing sector, the structure is the lesson: a global employer with thousands of staff used donation matching to convert individual generosity into a company-scale commitment, and channelled it through a specialist non-profit with the logistics to deliver in a conflict zone. Building filters that last more than a decade means the impact of the 2022 effort is designed to persist for years in the communities that received them, well beyond the moment of the announcement.
